September 14, 2021
TTSA, through its investment in REnergy 1, expands its renewable energy portfolio by the launching of a new 10 MW photovoltaic park in the Peloponnese region in Stefani, Corinth. R Energy 1 remains committed in its business plan of further expansion within the next three years.
The Photovoltaic Park in Korinthos with a total a nominal power of 10 MW is located near the village of Stefani, southwest of Korinthos at a distance of about 120 kilometers from the city of Athens.
The specific part is the largest operating park in the Peloponnese and the second largest park in Greece connected to a unique substation.
The inauguration ceremony of the new unit was attended by the Prime Minister of Greece, Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis that gave also a speech as well as the Minister of National Defense Nikos Panagiotopoulos, the Deputy Minister of Development and Investment in charge of Private Investment Issues, Nikos Papathanasis, the Deputy Minister in charge of Research and Innovation Christos Dimas, the Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy in charge of Spatial Planning and Urban Environment Nikos Tagaras, the Peloponnese Regional Governor Panagiotis Nikas, the Mayor of Corinth Vassilis Nanopoulos and the MP of SW Corinth Konstantinos Kollias.
In a statement, the Secretary General of Energy and Mineral Resources, Alexandra Sdoukou, said, among other things: “The climate crisis is already here. And while a future with rational use of resources, a future without fossil fuel dependence, a sustainable future is still possible, it is by no means certain. The “window of opportunity” to make this future a reality and, above all, to avoid the disastrous effects of an alternative future, global warming, is becoming narrower and narrower. For this reason, the Ministry of Environment and Energy is intensifying the pace of planning and implementation of the energy transition“.
She added, “The policies of the Hellenic Ministry of Environment and Energy over the last two years allow the twenty-year-old vision of some RES pioneers, such as the Roca Family, for a ‘clean’ and ‘green’ energy mix to take on flesh and blood.”
